EZEKIEL 33:6 But if the watchman see the sword come,
and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned;
if the sword come, and take any person from among them,
he is taken away in his iniquity;
but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand.
A noted Christian personality, whom will remain anonymous, and
who in all other subjects with regard to the Bible I adamantly
agree with, said a couple of things about the subject of 'SIN' that
I adamantly disagree with. In the past, he has seemed to imply
that once we are saved, we no longer sin, and even the tiniest
little sin after being born again will lose us our salvation.
I adamantly disagree this this position because
we all are born with a sin nature and it is in us until we
get to Heaven. It is in our DNA, marked in
blue cells noted here. The difference
between a born again Christian and an atheist, and it is big one,
is that the atheist will dwell on his sin and act on it if possible.
Christians immediately stop ourselves from these sins and
immediately start thinking holy thoughts. But the initial sin
in exactly the same in both.
He, and his associates said in a 2013 youtube video that drinking
and smoking are not sins. In fact, they said that any thoughts or
actions that are not specifically forbidden in the Bible are not sins.
I have heard progressives even say that even though a sin is mentioned
dozens of times in the Bible, if Jesus himself did not mention it
directly and specifially, then it is not a sin.
I adamantly disagree with this position because any thoughts or
actions that
do not bring glory to God is a sin.
Most things that a born again Christian does such as eating,
drinking, sleeping, watched family friendly television on YouTube,
reading family friendly books and magazines DO bring glory to God
when done in good faith. Drinking and smoking do NOT bring glory
to God and are therefore among the trillions upon trillions of sins.
There are trillions upon
trillions of sins that are not specifically mentioned in the Bible.
There are even more that Jesus never mentioned specifically. In fact,
Jesus actually mentioned only very few sins spcifically. If the bible
listed every possible sin. the Bible would be several Library of
Congresses in size. If Jesus mentioned all these sins specifally,
each Bible would require many barrels of red ink to highlight His
words. No publisher would be able to print a single Bible because
it would require too much paper. No one could own a Bible, even
if it could be printed because it would take up too much space.
No one would be able to find anything significant in the Bible
because there would be so many sins to go through.
Drinking and smoking are definitely sins.
